Spring '10 Day 51 of 52
Almost time to close out on another challenge. This challenge has been great, here are a few things that I've done during this challenge:
- I started the TNT diet, which I'm really liking!
- Lost just under 10lbs and 3% body fat!
- Stretched everyday and can definitely feel a difference!
- Got back into reading and really like the Dark Tower series by Stephen King
- Dropped from size 40 to size 36 jeans!
Looking forward to another challenge. I"ll have to keep up with my posts more this next challenge.

Spring '10 Day 17 of 52
This past week was busy with work so I dropped off on my RTs, but I'll be back at it this weekend. I'm almost halfway done reading The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King.
Cleaning and organizing around the house has made some nice improvements. Especially in closet space! It is much easier to clean something small once a day than to worry about a big cleaning project all at once.
Stretching everyday has made my recovery after hockey games much easier. Now that I'm playing 3 games a week, this is most helpful.

Winter '10 Finish Line, Spring '10 Starting!
I ended up doing great for the Winter '10 challenge! I lost 13.2 lbs and met all my goals on my way to a GOLD+ medal!!
Here were my final results:
CE: 94/104/80 (117.5%)
RT: 12/12 (100%) - Barely made it here.
CT: 27/15 (180%)
PG1 (5% Challenge): 13.2/12.5 (105.6%)
PG2 (Days Without Soda): 51/30 (170%)
I just signed up for the Spring '10 Challenge!! I won't be doing the 5% challenge this time, since I'll be doing the TNT diet and lifting more. I'll be focusing more changing my body composition rather than pure weight loss. I've increased all my goals and I'll have a better balance of RTs vs CTs.
Here are my goals for Spring '10:
CE: 85/104
RT: 20
CT: 23
PG1: Read 2 books
PG2: Stretch everyday
PG3: Clean/Organize one thing at home everyday
Thanks for all your support!! Good luck to everyone who will be starting the Spring '10 Challenge!!

Winter '10 Day 51 of 52
One day left in the challenge and I've already hit all my goals!! I'm glad I was able to stick with it and complete my first challenge. I started off at 249.6 lbs and this morning I weighed in at 236.4 lbs! 13.2 lbs gone! I need to find time to work in some more RT sessions during the week. My CT sessions take care of themselves with the 2 ice hockey leagues I'm in.
My wife bought me a Polar F7 heart monitor for Valentine's Day! I've been wanting to get one for a few months, and I love it! I use it for all my workouts and it is great to see how many calories I actually burn and what my heart rate max and averages are. I really like the fact that I can upload my workouts from the watch to an online website.
Now it is time to think about starting the TNT Diet. Might take the next challenge off to make sure my body adjusts to the new eating habits. Or I could use the challenge to help me work my way through it. Haven't decided yet.

Winter '10 Day 36 of 52
I decided to wait and start the TNT diet and workout plan for the next 52DC. I'll finish this one out doing what I've been doing. Next session I'll definitely bump up my goals and see where that goes! Hockey has been going great, both my teams are on big winning streaks. One team is in 1st place and the 2nd team is 1 point out of first...stupid overtime loss :(. Things are going great and looking forward to hitting all my goals this challenge.

Winter '10 Day 29 of 52
Just bought the TNT Diet and the Big Book of Exercises books this week. I like the concept behind the TNT Diet, I'm just a little worried about how it'll effect me in sports. The TNT Diet is pretty much a how carb, high fat diet. I play a ton of sports: hockey 2-3 times a week, racquetball 1-2 times a week, and softball once a week. That is a lot of sports, but I love to play!! My RTs are struggling a little bit since I play a sport 4-5 days a week. I've always been told to have lots of carbs to play sports so I hope this new way of using energy will work out. That is really the only thing that is keeping me from starting the TNT Diet right now. I play racquetball and hockey competitively so I don't want to see a dip in my performance. Softball is a beer (rec) league with coworkers and friends, so I'm not too worried about that.

Winter '10 - Day 19 of 52
I lost a CE on Friday which was not planned, but I made up for it my eating clean during the football games this weekend...MAN WAS THAT HARD!! After looking at my numbers, I'm glad I stayed on track.
I think I'm going to start the workout/diet plan of the TNT diet soon. I'm in the process of tracking down the book at Barnes & Noble. The two locations near me are out of stock and the closest one that does have it is a 30 minutes drive. Which wouldn't be bad, but the only time I have to drive over there and get it would be after work....making it a 1.5 hour drive in rush hour! :( I may resort to ordering it online if I can't grab a copy by Wednesday.

Winter '10 - Day 15 of 52
Clean eats are coming along much easier this time around. It's so much easier to give up soda after 2 weeks, I don't have to think about it anymore. Tons of water really isn't that bad. I was able to get in a very good RT last night, and I know I'm going to be really sore tomorrow. After lifting it got me thinking that when I lift I'm just making it up as I go right now. To continue on the right path and to have a goal in sight I'm going to need a little direction. So, I'm looking at possibly getting a workout/diet book to help aid me from here on out. I was thinking about the TNT Diet, Big Book of Exercises, or P90x. Those are the 3 main ones that many people are talking about. I've got to do a bit of research to see which would be most beneficial to me and something that will be easy to continue on after this challenge.

Winter '10 - Day 12 of 52
Finally had a cheat day for CE's during the Cowboy game. Then lost another CE at night with a pitcher of beer due to the horrible performance of the Cowboy's O-line. At least we beat Philly in the playoffs...small victories...I guess. Still haven't been able to catch up on some RTs yet, I'm ready for that this week.
Hockey is going great, both teams I'm on are now in 1st place! I'm averaging one point a game now, and I'm on a 5 game scoring streak! Guess it's time to start cheering on the Mavericks and Stars!

Winter '10 - Day 7 of 52
Still on track with the clean eats! I had a busy weekend with 3 hockey games (Saturday, Sunday and Monday). I'm on track to easily hit my CT since I joined a second hockey league last week. Going to have to work on getting my RTs in since most of my time will be for CTs now.
It has only been a week since the challenge started, but I already feel more energetic and upbeat! Things are looking great!

Winter '10 - Day 5 of 52
Been doing great with the clean eats and staying under 2000 calories a day! CTs and RTs are ramping up and coming along great. I'm 4/5 for days without soda. I gave in and had a Dr. Pepper during the Cowboy game!! GO COWBOYS!!

Winter '10 - Day 3 of 52
Still off to a great start with the clean eats. It is much easier to stay disciplined this time around. 3 for 3 for days without soda, it's hard but I'm able to manage so far with orange juice, milk and water.

Winter '10 - Day 1 of 52
Off to a good start with the clean eats. I'm used to having at least 1 Dr. Pepper a day, so trying to go 30 days without soda is going to be interesting. My RT was helping a friend move some furniture to a 2nd story apartment. Big couches are a pain to get up a flight of stairs with a turn around in the middle.
